EXCLUSIVE: NBA Star Precious Achiuwa Snaps Up $1.8 Million Miami Condo in Celebrity-Favored Luxury Tower

by Kelsi Karruli

Sacramento Kings forward Precious Achiuwa is expanding his real estate portfolio after signing a contract for a $1.84 million condo inside a lavish Miami development that has already attracted several high-profile athletes.

The 27-year-old NBA star is set to become one of the newest residents of Jean-Georges Miami Tropic Residences, a 49-story luxury condominium building located between Miami's Design District and Midtown neighborhoods.

Achiuwa signed a contract for a two-bedroom, two-bathroom unit that was listed for $1.84 million, according to an announcement from developers Terra and Lion Development Group.

The basketball player, who was represented by Simon S. Mass of Altariss & TCS, is no stranger to investing in Miami real estate, having previously purchased property at Five Park, another development by Terra.

"Miami has always felt like a second home to me, and when Simon walked me through what Jean-Georges and Terra were building at Miami Tropic, it was an easy decision," Achiuwa said in a press release shared with Realtor.com®.

"I already invested in Five Park by Terra with his guidance, and this was the same instinct."

The NBA star explained that the development's focus on fitness, nutrition, and luxury living played a significant role in his decision to invest in the property.

"The combination of world-class wellness, Jean-Georges’ culinary vision, and the location between the Design District and Midtown is unlike anything else in the market," he added.

Achiuwa is joining an increasingly star-studded list of athletes who have secured residences inside the development.

Argentinian polo champion Nacho Figueras and his son, Hilario Figueras, recently purchased a three-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom unit spanning 2,951 square feet, which was listed for $3.116 million.

Meanwhile, Alpine Formula 1 driver Pierre Gasly secured a sprawling four-bedroom, four-bathroom sky residence measuring 3,712 square feet, with a listing price of $4.9 million.

While Achiuwa's future home is more modest in comparison, it will offer access to the same expansive collection of luxury amenities available to the building's residents.

The development, which will house 338 condominiums, marks Michelin-starred chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten's first foray into residential real estate.

Designed by architecture firm Arquitectonica, with interiors envisioned by Yabu Pushelberg, the tower will feature more than 80,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenities spread across five floors.

Among its most notable features is The Well Club at Miami Tropic, a dedicated wellness destination designed to help residents prioritize their physical health and recovery.

The facility will offer infrared saunas, steam rooms, hot and cold contrast therapies, compression and percussion treatments, and private treatment rooms.

Fitness enthusiasts will also have access to strength-training equipment, cardio facilities, yoga and barre offerings, squash, and personalized training services.

Elsewhere, residents will be able to enjoy an eighth-floor swimming pool and private restaurant and bar, as well as a rooftop pool, juice bar, private dining room, library, and multiple lounge areas.

Vongerichten has also played an integral role in shaping the building's culinary offerings, which will place an emphasis on fresh, seasonal ingredients and farm-to-table dining.

The chef's influence will extend beyond the communal dining areas and into the residences themselves, with his vision helping inform the design of the in-home kitchens.

The ground floor will house abc kitchens, a restaurant concept combining elements of Vongerichten's abcV, abc cocina, and abc kitchen.

Meanwhile, the building's interiors will draw inspiration from Miami's tropical surroundings, incorporating greenery, natural woods, stone finishes, and textured materials to create a calming atmosphere.

For Achiuwa, the combination of location, wellness amenities, and luxury hospitality appears to have made the development an appealing addition to his growing property portfolio.

"Precious is joining a rapidly growing Miami Tropic community of residents with a shared appreciation for wellness, hospitality, and culture," Terra CEO David Martin said in a statement.

"In partnership with Jean-Georges, we're building a lifestyle destination that blends world-class dining, holistic wellness, and elevated service—a combination that deeply resonates with globally-recognized athletes, food connoisseurs, and art and culture enthusiasts."
