Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Dancer and ‘DWTS’ Pro Jan Ravnik Is a First-Time Homeowner: ‘It Was Kind of a Fight’

After a long, eventful search, “Dancing with the Stars” professional Jan Ravnik has finally become a first-time homeowner.

The dancer, who traveled with pop star Taylor Swift through the Eras Tour, has been sharing his quest for a house for months, noting that he was six months into the process in August.

“Today, I can proudly say I’m a homeowner,” Ravnik, 31, announced in a Sept. 24 Instagram post.

He dropped the news alongside a few photos of the new abode, including a playful snap where he’s sitting on top of the mantle of a fireplace.

“Less than 10 years ago, I moved to this country with $1,200 in my bank account, kept my head down, worked my ass off, and honestly just wanted to prove that I was good enough to stay in this country and in this industry,” Ravnik wrote.

The new property owner provided more details in a TikTok video, explaining that he wrote a letter to the sellers, explaining why he was eager to purchase their Los Angeles home.

“It was kind of a fight, that I was fighting with other people to get it, but I don’t know how it happened,” he said. “I don’t know what I did in this life so good that I got this house, but I’m absolutely grateful.”

Ravnik added that his new home is an “older” dwelling built in 1928 with three bedrooms, two bathrooms and “a lot of yard.”

In one photo, he shows off the gorgeous arched doorways of the home, which also includes terracotta tile, hardwood floors, and picture-frame windows.

He already has plans to make the space his own, revealing, “I need to demolish some stuff to renovate both my bathrooms and kitchen, but it’s step by step.”

Fellow “Dancing with the Stars” professional Sasha Farber even offered to help transform the space, commenting, “You need me to paint your house.”

“Summer House” star Ciara Miller, who is competing on this season, chimed in with some well wishes, too, writing, “Congrats honey!”

Ravnik now has another search ahead as he seeks to furnish his new home, as he shared that at the moment, he does not have any furniture and is only in possession of clothes.

He teased that he “can’t wait” to share more of his Spanish-style home with his followers, whom he already took along for his home-buying journey.

In an Aug. 26 TikTok, Ravnik chronicled some of the challenges of his search. While he shared gratitude for being able to “even think about” acquiring property in Los Angeles, he admitted that the process had been harder than expected.

At one point, he put an offer on a home in Silver Lake, which he joked was probably “haunted” and “going to fall apart.” Still, he had a vision for how he could fix it up, and was disappointed to find out his offer had not been accepted.

Ravnik felt his desire for an ultra-private home was probably the reason the hunt had become so cumbersome.

“I want a street where I don’t see people. I don’t like people. I just want to be alone,” he said, adding that he was looking for a backyard where he “can be naked” without neighbors spotting him.

From “cheap” renovations to homes that looked much smaller in person than they appeared in the listing, Ravnik certainly visited his fair share of duds.

One property—which he had put an offer on—even featured a “very dark” basement that he was unwilling to explore.

“I’m not playing that,” Ravnik said in an Aug. 30 TikTok. “Oh, and somebody died in the house. The ghost would be my best friend! But somebody offered $600,000 more than the asking price, so I said no thank you.”

Hailing from Slovenia, Ravnik won many dance championship titles before relocating to the United States in 2015. He has also shared the stage with legendary performers such as Mariah Carey, Paula Abdul, and Bruno Mars.

Currently, Ravnik is competing in “Dancing with the Stars” Season 35, with “Fresh Prince of Bel Air” alum Tatyana Ali. Last season, he was partnered with “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” cast member Jen Affleck.
