Palatial Highland Park Chateau With 3,000-Bottle Wine Room and Private Elevator Hits the Market for $18.5 Million

by Larissa Runkle

A new real estate star has risen in the Lone Star State—where the local housing market has been given a dose of European elegance courtesy of a palatial $18.5 million chateau-style manor that was recently listed outside of Dallas.

Located on a rare half-acre parcel in the affluent Highland Park neighborhood, the standout property makes a bold impression. Though it was built in 2015, it looks as if it has been around for decades, if not centuries.

At more than 11,000 square feet—with seven bathrooms and seven full bathrooms—the grand residence offers both scale and luxury, without sacrificing the comfort needed for everyday living.

What's more, it was recently discounted from its original list price of $19.99 million in March 2024. The listing was removed four months later, but reappeared in January 2025 for the same price. It was most recently dropped to $18.5 million.

What has remained consistent, however, is the extraordinary level of luxury found throughout the home, including a 3,000-bottle, glass-enclosed wine room and a private elevator.

"It lives really well. Everything is supremely well appointed,” says listing agent Jonathan Rosen, with Compass RE Texas LLC - Park Cities.

The wine room is perhaps one of the most stand-out aspects of the property, particularly as it can be seen from the property's private study, which Rosen describes as an "incredible" view.

Renowned architects, designers, and landscapers were called upon to elevate every area of the property, which the listing notes is "one of the most distinguished homes ever offered in the neighborhood."

The residence was "brought to life" by Sebastian Construction Group, one of the area's premier architecture firms, while inside, the home’s aesthetic flows seamlessly across three levels, with interiors by Deborah Walker and Betty Lou Phillips.

The primary suite offers a secluded retreat, complete with a private balcony, dual baths, and his-and-her closets. For guests, there's a separate suite with accordion-style glass doors that open to the outdoors.

The grounds, designed by Harold Leidner Landscape Architects, bring sculptural elegance to the property, from its manicured terraces to a resort-style pool and cabana.

"It’s one of the finest locations in Highland Park and on one of the larger lots," Rosen points out. "That combination is something you almost never see."

At the back of the home, there is a beautiful pool and spa next to a covered patio. Built-in loungers add a unique touch to the exterior, which also features a built-in stone seating area at the end of the pool. In addition, there is a 1,500-square-foot cabana with "nano doors and a full bar."

Needless to say, the estate was designed for entertaining at scale, something Rosen has experienced himself.

“I’ve been to an event with more than 100 people here, and it worked beautifully,” he recalls.

Practical luxuries also extend beyond the main home, including a three-car garage with lift capacity. Beneath its elegant finishes, the home is anchored by a geothermal HVAC system—another example of its quiet sophistication.

“It’s not just a showpiece. It’s been engineered with intention,” Rosen explains. “This is an amazing entertaining house, but it’s also just an incredible place to live.”
