Leonardo DiCaprio’s Penthouse in ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ Is Listed for $5 Million: ‘A Distinctive Piece of Cinematic History’

by Kelsi Karruli

A stunning penthouse that served as the opulent Manhattan home of Leonardo DiCaprio's character in "The Wolf of Wall Street" has been put on the market for $4.95 million—giving one lucky homebuyer the chance to own "a distinctive piece of cinematic history."

The three-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom Manhattan penthouse took on a starring role in the 2013 film, which saw DiCaprio, 51, in the role of financier Jordan Belfort, appearing alongside Margot Robbie, 35, and Jonah Hill, 42.

Multiple scenes were filmed inside—and outside—the property, with the dwelling's spectacular Manhattan views creating a perfect backdrop for the drama unfolding between Belfort and his fellow financial giants.

Those views were featured prominently in the listing images for the 2,700-square-foot dwelling, courtesy of the floor-to-ceiling windows and the expansive terrace that can be accessed from several rooms in the home.

Of course, the listing also highlights the unit's impressive Hollywood history: "Notably, a pivotal scene from The Wolf of Wall Street was filmed inside this very residence, adding a distinctive piece of cinematic history to an already exceptional home."

That "pivotal scene" took place inside the living room, which features wraparound floor-to-ceiling windows and soaring ceilings.

Movie audiences were given a full tour of the space and the adjoining terrace when an associate of DiCaprio's character hauled a butler outside and dangled him off the side of the building to extract a confession from him.

The apartment was offered up for use in the movie by its current owner, Bert E. Brodsky, who is primarily based in Port Washington, NY, and has owned the unit since 2005—before it had been completed, according to Mansion Global.

But the property has never really served as a home, Brodsky confessed to the outlet: "I don’t use it as a residence. I use it more for showering and meeting people."

As a result, the property is in meticulous shape, having rarely been occupied in the two decades since it last changed hands for $4.5 million.

"The thoughtfully designed layout begins with a gracious entry foyer that opens into an expansive great room framed by dramatic city vistas," the listing adds.

"Just off the great room is a bespoke wet bar, perfectly positioned for hosting. Eleven-foot ceilings and rich hardwood floors enhance the sense of scale and light throughout."

The chef's kitchen comes with state-of-the-art appliances, a large island, and plenty of cabinetry.

"Eleven-foot ceilings and rich hardwood floors enhance the sense of scale and light throughout. The open chef's kitchen features custom European cabinetry, a substantial center island, and premium Viking appliances," the listing states.

"Penthouse C presents a rare opportunity to own a 2, 700-square-foot corner residence with sweeping, open exposures in every direction.

"Floor-to-ceiling glass windows and two private terraces capture expansive skyline views stretching from the East River across Midtown's iconic towers like the Chrysler Building," the listing reads.

The dining area is the epitome of luxury with its modern overhead lighting and enough space for a large eating table.

The primary bathroom boasts a large glass-enclosed shower, soaking tub, and dual vanities.

Meanwhile, the primary suite features a chic fireplace, enough room for a king-sized bed, and the same large windows, which allow natural light to flood inside.

"At the heart of the home, the primary suite is anchored by a fireplace and outfitted with two walk-in closets and a five-fixture windowed bath that feels closer to a private spa than a bathroom. The two secondary bedrooms each have their own en-suite baths," reads the listing.

The home features a balcony that is accessed through French doors and shows off the skyline.

"A vented washer-dryer laundry closet, Central HVAC, and custom lighting reflect the attention to detail throughout this incredible home. Residents of The Milan enjoy white-glove service, including a 24-hour doorman and concierge, a landscaped garden, fitness center, on-site garage, and residents lounge," notes the listing.

The listing also highlights the penthouse's prime location: "Conveniently located near Whole Foods, MoMA, Bloomingdale's, Equinox, exceptional dining, and multiple transportation options, this is a distinguished offering in one of Manhattan's most established residential enclaves."
