EXCLUSIVE: NBA Star Michael Porter Jr. Lists His Denver Home for $5.3 Million—After Trade to the Brooklyn Nets

by Charlie Lankston

NBA star Michael Porter Jr. is getting set to sever his remaining ties to Denver by listing his opulent city dwelling for $5.25 million—three months after he was traded by the Nuggets to the Brooklyn Nets.

The 27-year-old, who was drafted by Denver as the 14th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, signed a five-year contract extension with the Nuggets in 2021 that was worth an estimated $200 million.

That same year, Porter snapped up a beautiful apartment inside the Four Seasons Residences in the Colorado city, paying $4.5 million for the three-bedroom unit, which had previously been owned by famed architect Curtis Fentress.

However, in the wake of his trade, it seems the NBA star is ready to move on once and for all, putting his ultramodern abode on the market for $750,000 more than he bought it for four years ago.

"Originally conceived as the private residence of one of the world's most revered masters of public architecture, it bears the unmistakable imprint of precision, discipline, and artistry," the listing, which is held by Kim Norton of Kentwood Real Estate Cherry Creek, notes.

Michael Porter Jr. has put his stunning Denver apartment on the market for $5.25 million—after being traded by the Nuggets to the Brooklyn Nets in June.

It goes on to describe the property as something "completely unique and unlike anything else available" within the same building—hailing the unit as "a true masterpiece of vision and design."

The dwelling occupies half of the 40th floor of the high-rise property, spanning 4,800 square feet, the entirety of which has been designed with a "minimalist" aesthetic to create a "blank canvas" for the next owner to put their own mark on.

Thanks to its perch atop the luxury building, the apartment boasts spectacular views, which can be enjoyed via its walls of glass—or on one of its multiple balconies.

"Walls of glass invite light to move across marble floors and polished surfaces, transforming the home throughout the day, while at night the city below becomes a glittering sea of lights," the description continues.

"Two expansive covered balconies, framed by bespoke custom planters, extend the living spaces outward, framing both mountain vistas and urban horizons while preserving perfect privacy."

In addition to the views, the jewel in this real estate crown is undoubtedly the primary suite, which features a custom-designed bed frame, a huge closet that spans an entire wall, and a "spa-like" bathroom with a huge soaking tub.

Though smaller, the additional two guest suites are just as opulent, "reflecting the same commitment to comfort and refinement," the listing notes.

Porter's unit is also outfitted with an array of high-tech smart features, including custom lighting and remote control shades, which are meant to "heighten" the ease of life inside the dwelling.

While the apartment boasts enough luxury to keep even the most discerning buyers happy, there is also a world of elegance awaiting residents of the Four Seasons building as soon as they step out of their own front door.

Like guests at the hotel, residents have access to a 24-hour concierge, a valet, in-residence dining, housekeeping, a full-service spa, a modern fitness center, and a year-round saltwater pool.

Porter certainly appears to have enjoying the high life during the last four years since he bought the abode.

And it remains to be seen whether he will enjoy a similar level of luxury in New York, particularly if he continues to rack up the same staggering Uber bills that he confessed he had been amassing in his first few days in the city.

Speaking during the Nets' media day, Porter said that he'd originally arrived in New York with his car and had been planning to drive himself around—but quickly realized he didn't feel comfortable navigating the busy streets, so he switched to Ubers ... to the tune of $250 a day.

"I’m recently getting acclimated to the city," he said, per the New York Post. "The traffic is tough. I shipped a car out here. I was thinking, 'Can I drive?' I ended up being like, 'No.' The $200 to $250 a day of Ubering is worth it out here."

The NBA star went on to reveal that he has already found himself a home, explaining that he lives in a "peaceful" neighborhood about 15 minutes away from the Nets' home arena at Barclays Center.

"New York is different, but I’m adjusting to the city," he continued. "I live in a really good area, a peaceful area. Probably 10 minutes to 15 minutes down the street from here, so I’m enjoying it so far."

Fortunately for Porter, he can afford to be more relaxed about such staggering Uber costs, thanks to his lucrative NBA deal, which will see him earn $38.3 million for the 2025/2026 season, then $40.8 million the following year.

He recently admitted, however, that such a hefty salary comes with its drawbacks—namely finding a partner who isn't solely focused on his money.

Porter opened up about his fears about dating women with ill "intentions" during a recent appearance on "Respectfully The Justin Laboy Show," recalling a past relationship when he split the cost of his girlfriend's rent as a means of figuring out if she was in the romance for the right reasons.

Podcast host Justin Laboy seemed flabbergasted by his admission, questioning: "Hold on. I know you not worth $200 million and was splitting rent with your ex-girlfriend."

However, Porter insisted that his heart was in the right place when it came to sharing the monthly cost of the property.

"It’s very hard when you have money, as you know, to tell a woman's intentions. … I had never bought a girl expensive gifts before this last girl and it was cool to do," he said. "But I still wanted to know that she was with me for the right reasons.

"Every dude in this particular person's past had money. So I never wanted to feel like a girl was just with me because of what I have and what I could give her."
