Anthony Davis’ $40 Million Bel-Air Palace Is Still on the Market—as Dallas Mavericks Prepare To ‘Trade Him to Washington Wizards’
The Dallas Mavericks are reportedly preparing to trade 10-time NBA All-Star Anthony Davis to the Washington Wizards, just one year after picking up the power forward from the Los Angeles Lakers in return for Luka Dončić.
According to a post shared by ESPN "insider" Adam Schefter, the Mavericks have agreed to trade Davis, 32, to the Wizards along with Jaden Hardy, D'Angelo Russell, and Dante Exum, in exchange for "Khris Middleton, AJ Johnson, Malaki Branham, Marvin Bagley III, 2 first-round picks and 3 second-rounders."
Davis has been with the Mavericks for only a matter of months, after being traded to the team for Dončić in a controversial deal in February 2025. Previously, the NBA superstar had been with the Lakers for six years—and had long since established himself as a California resident.
However, six months after moving to Dallas, Davis decided to cut ties with his sprawling Los Angeles home, listing the incredible property for the sky-high price of $39.9 million.
Located in Bel-Air, the dwelling is described in its listing as "the ultimate trophy estate," complete with more than 3.5 acres of land, anchored by a huge 17,200-square-foot mansion with eight bedrooms and 8.5 bathrooms.

Questions may now be raised about whether Davis will continue to pursue the sale of the expansive mansion, or perhaps remove it from the market while he grapples with yet another cross-country move.
It is unclear whether Davis and his wife, Marlen, have invested in property in the Lone Star State since February 2025. However, records do not show any Dallas-area home registered in their names.
Davis may have chosen to spend at least his first season living in a luxury rental property in the area, along with his spouse and their three children: daughter Nala and two sons, whose names he has never publicly shared.
The basketball pro is certainly no stranger to making luxury real estate purchases, however, having owned at least two high-end homes in L.A. during his six-year stint with the Lakers.
Before snapping up his enormous Bel-Air estate, the NBA pro sold a Westlake Village abode for the much lower price of $6.6 million, having owned it for three years. He is understood to have purchased that property while he was still playing for the New Orleans Pelicans.
After joining the Lakers and committing to a life in California, the Chicago native opted to find a much more impressive abode for himself and his family—happening upon the perfect property in the form of his Bel-Air estate, which he bought in an off-market deal.
The dwelling certainly appears fit for sporting royalty, complete with an array of amenities ideal for anyone with a passion for fitness.
Among the more impressive features are an outdoor tennis court with stadium-grade lighting, a batting cage, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, and a gym with a massage room.
Interestingly enough, however, the listing makes no mention of there being a basketball court at the property.

Still, there is plenty of evidence to hint at the sporting prowess of the current owner, including an array of sports memorabilia covering the walls in the lounge and bar room, which features a jaw-dropping white-and-blue pool table.
A signed Team USA basketball jersey bearing Davis' number—14—can be seen hanging in a frame on the wall.
Davis also has jerseys belonging to several other iconic players, including Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant, Julius Randle of the Minnesota Timberwolves, and the Milwaukee Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo.
An NFL jersey that was worn by New Orleans Saints player Cameron Jordan is also displayed on the wall.
The game room also features an impressive glass-front wine wall.
The second floor is home to the "epic primary suite," which features a palatial en suite bathroom, a fireplace, two walk-in closets, and extraordinary views of the surrounding area.
Five other en suite bedrooms can be found on that same level, while the lower story of the home is where guests will find the majority of the entertainment spaces, as well as a hair salon and barber shop.
The fun continues outside with a custom-designed children's playhouse with its own HVAC system, as well as multiple pool cabanas, a chef's kitchen, a vegetable garden, and a wellness center with a cold plunge and a sauna.
The news of Davis' trade to the Wizards sent shock waves through the NBA, with many experts and pundits describing it as a "shocking" deal.
According to ESPN, Davis is currently unable to play due to a ligament injury in his left hand. It is expected to keep him off the court for at least a few more weeks—and now it seems when he does finally return, he will be doing so with an entirely different team.
