Alec and Hilaria Baldwin Make Major U-Turn on Plans To Sell Hamptons Mansion—as Mother of 7 Prepares for ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Debut
Alec Baldwin and newly minted "Dancing With the Stars" contestant, Hilaria Baldwin, have proudly opened the doors to their sprawling Hamptons estate—while admitting that they have no plans to ever part ways with the property, despite making multiple attempts to sell it.
Alec, 67, and Hilaria, 41, showed off the luxurious 10,000-square-foot sanctuary in their short-lived TLC reality series, "The Baldwins," in which they offered fans a glimpse at their crazy lives with their seven children, Carmen, 11, Rafael, 9, Leonardo, 8, Romeo, 6, Eduardo, 4, Marilu, 4, and Ilaria, 2.
Although the show was cancelled after just one season due to low viewership, the couple isn't letting that stop them from showcasing their stunning home.
Most recently, they allowed cameras through their front doors for a candid at-home feature with The New York Times, which was published just days before Hilaria was revealed as one of the many celebrity contestants who will compete for the Mirrorball Trophy in the new season of "DWTS."
The mother of seven will make her debut on the highly anticipated Season 34 of "Dancing With The Stars" on Sept. 16, and will be partnered up with pro Gleb Savchenko. Other A-listers to appear on the series include Lauren Jauregui, Jen Affleck, Andy Ritcher, Corey Feldman, Elaine Hendrix.

But before Hilaria twirls her way to the stage, she and Alec opened up to The Times about their decision to keep their Hamptons retreat after putting it on and taking it off the market several times.
Speaking about their home, Hilaria revealed, “This was Alec’s safe place for a long time before he met me.
"A place he would come during very difficult times in his life: his divorce, a custody battle, everything. So it has been a piece-by-piece process learning how to come together and create something here, which I think is normal in any relationship.”
Reflecting on his initial purchase of the home in 1995—when he paid $1.75 million for the dwelling—Alec said, “When I looked at this property, no one moved north of Montauk Highway and spent any money.
"So when I bought it, I thought, I probably have to get rid of it because it was a mistake. But several years went by, and I’m like, ‘This is great. I love it because it’s private.’”
When Hilaria moved in, she began a complete overhaul of the space and switched out the limestone counters to Glassos and transformed the booze-themed room into a puzzle space, where she and her kids can spend their days putting together puzzles.
“I love puzzles, but the issue is I get hyper-focused, like, I don’t want to stop. So I’ll sit there until I finish it, which is not a very responsible thing to do as a parent. One day, when my youngest is 18, I’ll have to find a puzzle room that has doors," Hilaria told the outlet.
In the living room of their property, there is a large portrait of Hilaria, which was inspired by a paparazzi shot.
“I have to admit that I’m extraordinarily embarrassed that there is a gigantic painting of me in this room. “It’s like, ‘Welcome to my living room. Here is a painting of me,'" she said.

In 2021, Alec and Hilaria made plans to renovate their property; however, they ditched those plans in 2022 when they put the home on the market for $29 million.
The couple even accepted an offer in 2024 but swiftly changed their minds.
“But we keep coming back here because the kids are very happy. They love it here. When I go up to the kids and go, ‘Want to sell the house?’, they go crazy.
“It’s a kid’s home that I never want to leave,” Alec explained.
Alec purchased the sizable Amagansett property for the relatively low price of $1.75 million in 1995.
The 8-acre property features a 10,000-square-foot farmhouse, which provides the family with far more space than their Manhattan home. There's a bonus: the enormous outdoor spaces where the kids can play.
The luxurious home has covered porches and balconies. Amenities include a home theater, wine room, and wood-paneled library. The grounds include a pool and spa, a pavilion, and a vegetable garden.
When it was listed, the description touted an opportunity to expand the existing home, as well as the potential to build another property on the land.
According to People magazine, the family—and their many pets—regularly travel between this home and their Manhattan penthouse.

The home has been a sanctuary for the couple over the years. It was in their Hamptons estate that the family hunkered down during the COVID-19 pandemic, and they also spent time there in the wake of the fatal shooting on the set of Alec's movie, "Rust."
In October 2021, an unimaginable tragedy unfolded when he accidentally shot cinematographer Halyna Hutchins dead while practicing with a prop gun that had been wrongly loaded with live ammunition.
Alec was charged with involuntary manslaughter. However, the case against him was dismissed in July 2024.
In last week's episode of "The Baldwins," Alec lamented the size of his property, telling camera crews, "We know it’s too small."
Though their stunning Greenwich Village property, which they snapped up in 2011 for $11.7 million, sprawls across over 4,000 square feet and boasts four bedrooms, it's not spacious enough for their children and their eight furry friends, according to the actor.
Their reality series gave fans a glimpse of the crowded property, which features three bunk beds and two split rooms for the children.
Although the thought of filming the reality series was "the most preposterous thing I’d ever heard of,” according to Alec, it gave them a voice instead of having “everybody else" speak for them.
Alec and Hilaria, who wed in 2012 after meeting at a vegan restaurant in New York City, have spent much of their married life living inside a luxury apartment building, where they own a whopping four apartments between them.
The first, which was purchased by the "30 Rock" star for $11.7 million in 2011, is an enormous 4,137-square-foot penthouse that boasts four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. It also comes with outdoor space.
However, as Alec and Hilaria continued to expand their family, they also expanded their real estate holdings, snapping up three more units on the same floor, allowing them to create an enormous abode for their kids.
In 2012, Hilaria bought her own 12th-floor unit for $1.2 million, adding 840 square feet to their dwelling, which seemed to provide the duo ample space for their brood for several years.

Then, in 2017, months before welcoming their fourth child, son Romeo, Alec purchased a much more modest 480-square-foot studio on the same story, this time paying $1.3 million.
He followed that up two years later with a $1.7 million purchase in 2019.
The fruits of their labor have been put on full display in "The Baldwins," which offered viewers a look at the couple's somewhat chaotic lifestyle inside the luxury city dwelling.
Reality TV cameras began circling Alec and Hilaria one month before the actor was set to stand trial on an involuntary manslaughter charge in Hutchins' death.
The new TLC series pulled back the curtains on the couple's bustling family life and the effects the fatal shooting had on their family.
The first episode, which was released Feb. 23, saw the "Still Alice" star opening up about his "PTSD" following Hutchins' death, revealing that he has struggled to "get out of bed" since then.
"Halyna lost her life in the most unthinkable tragedy. We are going to feel and carry that pain forever," Hilaria said in the series.
Alec and Hilaria also discuss their 26-year age gap and addressed rumors that the 41-year-old faked her Spanish accent.
Speaking to People ahead of the series' release, the couple conceded that they have had their fair share of uphill struggles when it comes to raising such a large brood—but they insist that they wouldn't have it any other way.
"This is our lives," Alec said. "I always joke with her and say, ‘You know where I should be right now, don’t you? We should be on [David] Geffen’s yacht, drinking a cappuccino and reading a book, and having dinner with [Steven] Spielberg or whatever."
But while Alec may have ample opportunity to live the high life on a yacht in Europe, he says he "wouldn't change anything" about the lifestyle he has chosen.
Still, the couple are more privileged than most—even without the ability to jet off on lavish vacations with billionaire pals at a moment's notice.
Not only have they been able to build an expansive palace in New York City, they also have the option of escaping to their Hamptons estate when Manhattan life becomes too stifling.
