‘The View’ Star Alyssa Farah Griffin Gives Birth to Her First Child—After Quitting New York City for $3.2 Million Suburban ‘Forever Home’

"The View" cohost Alyssa Farah Griffin and her husband, Justin Griffin, have welcomed their first child—a baby boy—just hours after it was revealed that the TV star had gone into labor.

Alyssa, 36, revealed to the world that she was pregnant with her first child, during a live taping of "The View" in October—almost a year to the day after she announced that she and Justin had quit their longtime New York City abode in order to move to a new "forever home" in the suburbs.

Now, just four months later, the news of Alyssa's joyful arrival was also shared on the daytime show, this time by her cohost, Whoopi Goldberg, who revealed that the couple have named their baby boy Justin Patrick Griffin Jr.

"The first thing we want to do is start by congratulating Alyssa and her husband Justin on the birth of their baby boy. He weighed in at 7 pounds and 19-and-a-half inches," Whoopi said at the start of the Feb. 11 broadcast.

"Both mom and baby are doing well," she added, before noting that they must both be very "tired."

Alyssa later revealed on her Instagram Stories that Justin Jr. was born the prior night, soon after she took a break from "The View," having gone into labor.

"We're overjoyed and so grateful for all the well wishes," she added.

It is not known when Alyssa will return to "The View;" however, the show has played a key role in her pregnancy journey, serving as the perfect platform for the new mom to share her big news.

At the time, she took the opportunity to poke fun at Whoopi for previously assuming she was expecting.

Moments before announcing her pregnancy, Alyssa replayed the clip of the moment—which, at the time, left Alyssa open-mouthed in shock. The expectant mother then leaned back, embraced her growing bump, and asked, "So, Whoopi, do you want to ask me again?"

Alyssa's fellow panelists erupted in excited shrieks before running around to hug her, while the studio audience began applauding the happy news.

But while "The View" host's pregnancy reveal was filled with joy, she admitted to People that her struggle to conceive was much more fraught, during an emotional interview at her $3.2 million Bronxville home.

Alyssa, who was 22 weeks pregnant at the time, revealed that she had initially been reluctant to share the news because she was worried about the reaction from "The View" fans—particularly those who regularly "tweet ... milk bottles at me."

"But the only reason I haven't shared to this point is it was important to us to get through the 20-week appointment, which is the full anatomy, making sure everything's developing right because you're just higher risk, both with my age and with the infertility issues I've dealt with and [am] dealing with," she added.

"Most of my friends sadly have dealt with miscarriages, too, at some point. So we wanted to feel like we were in a safe place before we got too celebratory," she went on.

Despite her co-hosts' overjoyed on-air reaction to her pregnancy announcement, Alyssa let slip that she had already let them in on the news before that broadcast, revealing that they had been "incredible" in the wake of her announcement, particularly executive producer Brian Teta.

"I'd heard horror stories from friends of hiding their pregnancies late, and I'm very close with Brian. I was like, 'I need you to know that this is what I'm dealing with,'" she shared. "And he's been nothing but the most supportive."

Addressing the gender of her baby, Alyssa said that she is "so excited to be a boy mom" but joked that she's concerned about being "outnumbered" in her home, where she currently lives with her husband and "two male dogs."

"But I wanted a boy first. I grew up with sisters, and I've always liked the idea of a big brother looking out for the younger siblings (because we both want two kids)," she explained.

The arrival of Alyssa and Justin's first baby comes after they made another major life change: leaving their New York City apartment to relocate to the suburbs, where they found their "forever home."

The former political adviser turned TV star revealed in September 2024 that she and her spouse were quitting city life, while looking back on how much her life had changed since they moved to the Big Apple from Washington, DC, when she landed her role on "The View."

Sharing an image of herself and Justin posing in front of the New York City skyline on Instagram, Alyssa wrote: "These kiddos are bound for the Burbs! I got a call in July of 2022 from Brian that I’d been named co-host of @theviewabc. My amazing husband agreed to pack up our lives in DC & move to NYC with one month’s notice!

"2+ years later we’re headed to our forever home in the NYC suburbs. Thanks for the memories, Upper East Side!"

Realtor.com® later revealed that Alyssa and Justin had snapped up a stunning mansion in Bronxville in July 2024.

Alyssa and Justin snagged something of a deal, paying just a hair under the asking price of $3.59 million for their home.

Located in Bronxville Village, about 15 miles from Midtown Manhattan, the four-bedroom, four-bathroom, 1924-era structure offers 4,000 square feet of living space. The home blends "classic charm and contemporary sophistication," the listing noted, with elements such as graceful archways, a sunken living room with a gas fireplace, and modern comforts.

Highlights include a chef's kitchen that connects to a breakfast area and family room, a dining room, an office space, a wine room, and a primary suite with a spa-worthy bath and dual closets.

Outside, the property perks include an "enchanting" English garden, a stone terrace, and mature plantings.
