‘Modern Family’ Star Eric Stonestreet Secretly Weds Lindsay Schweitzer in Ceremony at Their Custom-Built Kansas City Home
"Modern Family" star Eric Stonestreet has said "I do" to longtime girlfriend Lindsay Schweitzer during a secret wedding ceremony held at the couple's beloved Missouri home.
The 54-year-old actor and the 46-year-old nurse, who began dating in 2017, hosted an intimate group of their loved ones at the Kansas City property—which was completed only a few months ago, just in time to serve as the venue for their under-the-radar nuptials.
Stonestreet revealed the news of their marriage in an Instagram post on Sept. 9—his 54th birthday—which featured adorable snaps from their wedding.
"It's my birthday and guess what I got," the actor captioned the post.
The carousel of images included one snap of the pair sharing a sweet kiss, while another saw the newlyweds dancing after saying their vows.

The images unleashed a flood of love from fans and A-listers, including Stonestreet's "Modern Family co-star Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who commented, "Of all second marriages, this one is my favorite! I love you both! I'm so happy for you!!!!"
In July, Stonestreet told People that he and Schweitzer always wanted to tie the knot at their Kansas City home.
"Well, I've said we're building a house to host a wedding, and we're still on track to do that. We're almost done with the house, and that's been our plan all along," he revealed.
"We got engaged and then all of a sudden got an opportunity to build a house, and I thought, no better way to start a relationship than literally building a foundation. So that's our plan and we're still on track for that."
Speaking about their proposal, he added, "We've been together for a long time and I just knew I wasn't going to find a better partner in life than Lindsay. So it just made the most sense. And I'd taken my sweet old time.
"Everybody else—let me put it this way—that knows Lindsay was like, 'What are you waiting for?' So, it was time."
Their choice of venue added a particularly personal touch to the special day, after the couple spent years carefully designing every element together.
In fact, Stonestreet has previously revealed that he and Schweitzer wanted a very unique kind of brick, which they managed to source on eBay before installing it at their 78-acre estate.
The home also features a cozy wooden aesthetic thanks to its cabinlike exterior.

But for all its rustic charm, the home—which Stonestreet previously showcased in a video interview with journalist Graham Besinger—also features state-of-the-art technology, the actor previously told People.
The expansive estate also serves as the perfect sanctuary from the bright lights of Hollywood, where Stonestreet was living throughout his time on "Modern Family."
However, when the show wrapped in 2020, he said he couldn't wait to get back to Kansas City—where he is originally from and where much of his family is still based.
"Then this piece of property came available, and we started conceiving of what we wanted, because we knew we're going to do this one time, and so we really were thoughtful about it," he told People.
The star also took lessons from his previous homes and applied those to the construction of his dream new dwelling, eliminating rooms that he knew would not be used, including a dining room and a home office, neither of which saw much action when he was living in Los Angeles.
He and Schweitzer—who is the mom to twin boys—also took into account her kids' needs when designing the home, creating a separate area where they can kick back and relax, without worrying about their parents getting in the way.
Photos of the home under construction revealed multiple stories with a stunning deck on the second floor.
Meanwhile, the interior of the home features ultrahigh ceilings and multiple bedrooms.
Outside, the home boasts a 100-year-old tree on its grounds and plenty of firewood so the couple can enjoy chilly winter nights at home.
